The film features an all-new cast and a different setting (Tokyo, Japan) from the previous two films. The movie was shot in Tokyo and in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, the latter often covered with props and lights to create the illusion of the Tokyo style.

At the beginning of the movie, Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) gets into trouble with one of the local kids from his high school, Clay (Zachery Ty Bryan), for talking with his girlfriend Cindy (Nikki Griffin), so she decides that the two race through a subdivision under construction for her attention, during which they both get injured. Deciding not to deal with moving again, Sean's mother sends him to Tokyo to live with his father, stationed in Japan as a U.S. Naval officer, after his incident in the United States almost lands him in jail. Sean is introduced into the world of drifting after a chance encounter with another expert, Twinkie (Bow Wow), a hustler who sells American goods to the Japanese.

However, Sean soon runs into Takashi (Brian Tee), also known as DK (short for Drift King), and his business partner and close friend Han (Sung Kang), who was born and raised in America. Sean is seen by Takashi talking to Neela (Nathalie Kelley), Takashi's then girlfriend, and when Takashi tells him to back down, Sean challenges him to a race using Han's car, where Takashi ends up winning in a blowout – and Sean totaling Han's car. Afterwards, Han tells Sean that he will be working with him to pay off the car as well as representing him in future races. Sean later finds out more about his friends, namely Han, being involved in a business partnership with Takashi. Sean also finds out Han is letting him race because he is the only one who isn't afraid of Takashi, causing Han to refer to him as Takashi's 'kryptonite'.

Sean slowly gains a reputation in the drifting scene after some tutelage and support (both financial and friendship) from Han and his gang of "misfits." Sean also gets involved with Neela, spending time with her drifting for fun up a mountain, and his budding relationship with her puts him at odds with Takashi. Neela tells Sean that she and Takashi grew up together after her mother died, and, like Sean, she was considered an outcast. Takashi beats up Sean after seeing him with Neela, threatening him to stay away from her or the only thing he will be driving is a wheelchair. Neela sees Sean's bruises and leaves Takashi in anger to be with Sean.

Takashi's uncle, Kamata, a high ranking Yakuza (portrayed by Sonny Chiba), told him that there is a discrepancy in the books, and that Han must be cheating them out of money. Takashi confronts Han and his group with this discrepancy, and Han, Sean, and Neela flee before Takashi deals with the money laundering. A car chase ensues through the Tokyo streets, with Takashi chasing Han. Takashi shoots at Han throughout the chase, causing Han's car to flip over Takashi. Han's car starts to leak gasoline from the crash, while Han is unable to move from his injuries. As Sean and Neela finally catch up to Han, the gasoline leaked from the car reaches a nearby fire, triggering an explosion and killing Han. Sean and Neela go back to Sean's father's house, and Takashi comes to take Neela and kill Sean, but Sean's father threatens Takashi with his own gun. Neela voluntarily goes away with Takashi.

Sean attempts to make amends by appealing to Takashi's uncle, returning the money Han stole and offering to an "honor race", a duel where whoever loses is run out of town. The race is on a touge (mountain pass) that Takashi has the advantage on, since he's supposedly the only one to ever make it down to the bottom in one piece. Sean, Twinkie, and Han's crew borrow Sean's father's car and work on it. Since all the other cars were taken by the police, Sean and his team use the engine from the first car Sean had wrecked.

After a long race battle, Sean wins the race by making his way across the finish line, while Takashi survives a last-minute crash. Takashi's loss causes him to suffer a humiliating defeat at the hands of Sean, whom Takashi still considers an "outsider". Takashi's uncle tells Sean he is free to go, and Takashi presumably leaves Tokyo. Later, Neela gets back with Sean.

Later, Sean is the new Drift King and is hanging out in the underground parking lot from earlier in the film with his girlfriend Neela. Twinkie comes up to Sean, saying someone wants to challenge him, which Sean accepts only after finding out the challenger knew Han. The mystery car driver who pulls up is none other than Dominic Toretto (portrayed by Vin Diesel, from the first The Fast and the Furious movie). Toretto and Sean hold a brief conversation, with Toretto saying that Han once rode with him. Neela counts off the race, the cars take off, and the movie ends without disclosing the race results.

2 Fast 2 Furious

2 Fast 2 Furious (Commonly known as 2F2F, and known as Wild Speed X2 in Japan) is a 2003 film that is the second installment of The Fast and the Furious film series, following 2001's The Fast and the Furious. The total running time is 101 minutes, with an MPAA rating of PG-13.

Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker), the disgraced cop from the first film, is on the run because he let Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel) escape. He comes to Miami to start a new life. Here he makes new friends Tej Parker (Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges) an ex-street racer and well-known car tuner Jimmy (Jin) as well as Suki (Devon Aoki) - also a street racer. O'Connor is now known by his street name "The Bullet", and competes with fellow street racers in high stakes races to win money utilizing the skills he learned as a member of Toretto's now disbanded team.

One night after winning a race, he is caught by US Customs agents after his car is disabled by the fictional harpoon-like ESD (Electronic Disruption Device) that is deployed by US Customs Agent Markham (James Remar). He is arrested and his former boss FBI Agent Bilkins makes a deal with him saying that if he accepts to take part in a mission, his criminal record will be wiped clean.

Custom Honda S2000 at the Petersen Automotive Museum with a Veilside bodykit

O'Connor and Bilkins then travel to Barstow, California where O'Connor proposes the deal to his childhood friend and ex-con Roman Pearce (Tyrese). Together their mission involves working undercover as street racers for a South American (Argentine) drug lord - Carter Verone (Cole Hauser), with help from Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes) an undercover U.S. Customs agent who becomes Carter's love interest. They win a highly charged "audition" race and strike a deal with Verone, who stated, "Drive the package to the Keys and I'll personally hand over 100Gs($100,000) at the finish line". Roman Pearce requests that the prize be $100,000 for both himself and O'Connor.

This leads to several scuffs and car sequences throughout the movie, along with some spectacular car races. During the course of the movie O'Connor and Pearce begin to realize the major trouble they are in and ask Tej to arrange a race for "pink slips" with two of the racers from the audition race earlier in the movie; O'Connor and Pearce win Korpi's 1969 Yenko Camaro and Darden's 1970 Challenger R/T.

Later on that night O'Connor and Pearce arrive at Verone's nightclub so Verone can "persuade" a police detective named Whitworth into keeping the local police away from O'Connor and Pearce so they may transport the money (which involves using a champagne bucket to cover a huge rat on Whitworth's chest and using a blow torch to have the rat scratch and bite Whitworth). The next morning they embark on the mission in their Mitsubishis with Verone's money in the trunks and two of his henchmen riding along. During the transportation of Verone's money the corrupt Detective Whitworth calls in the army of police units he has waiting nearby. During the chase they lead the police to a warehouse complex. The police surround the front of the garage area so O'Connor's and Pearce's street racer friends create a "scramble" diversion allowing O'Connor and Pearce to sneak away in the Camaro and Challenger continuing their mission. First to be driven out from the garage were 4 new Dodge Rams to ram the police cars, then hundreds of cars, including O'Connor and Pearce. As the drama unfolds, Verone tries to escape aboard his yacht after informing Monica that he knew she was an undercover U.S. Customs agent. One car first goes in front of the semi-truck and uses a hook to pull off the pane of glass. One of the people then uses a grappling hook to enter the cab, subdue the driver, and drive off with the contents. The next scene shows Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker), an LAPD officer, trying to top his 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST out. Later on, the chief of police tells Brian that the truckers are about to arm themselves and take things into their own hands, but hold off to let the police try and handle it. We learn Brian is working undercover under the name, Brian Earl Spilner, trying to find out who is responsible for these semi-truck hijackings. He tries to get in with a group of people led by Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel). Toretto runs a grocery shop and a garage where he does tune ups. Vince (Matt Schulze) gets into a fight with Brian which Dominic breaks up and tells Brian not to come back. Brian shows up again at a street race and bets his car that he will win. Though close, Dominic easily beats him. The police then come to break up the race. Everyone flees, but Brian stays around and picks Dominic up, gaining his good graces. They are accosted by a rival Vietnamese car shop lead by Johnny Tran, and later blow up Brian's car. Afterwards, Toretto says that Brian still owes him a ten-second car. Soon, Brian gets inside the Toretto clan. He dates Domenic's sister, Mia, and begins tuning up while finding out more information. The skid marks of the Honda Civics show a brand of tires, which leads him to inspect Hector's (Noel Gugliemi) garage, a local racer and friend of Toretto. When Brian goes into his shop late at night to check out the cars, the tires don't correspond to the tires on the Civics. Vince finds Brian poking around and accuses him of being a cop. Brian denies it and says that he can't lose another race and was checking everyone's cars out. Dominic, Vince, and Brian then break into Tran's shop, where they find a stack of DVD players and several cars without engines. Brian reports his findings to his superiors, but they soon notice he's getting close with Toretto, growing weary of Brian

. After another truck hijacking occurs, the police move in and arrest all the members of Tran's gang, but find that the players were legally purchased and that they are not the ones doing the hijackings. Brian's superior tells him that it has to be Toretto doing it, giving him a sudden deadline. Brian casually asks Toretto that whatever he is doing, he wants in on it as well. Toretto agrees as long as Brian wins the upcoming Race Wars. During Race Wars, Toretto's friend Jesse races his Jetta against Johnny Tran for pink slips and loses. In a state of panic, he drives away from the race. During the night, Toretto and the rest of the clan drive out. Brian confesses to Mia that he's a cop and tells her that the truckers are now armed. He convinces her to come with him to save her brother and his friends. They trace his cell phone and track him down. Toretto pulls out the Honda Civics to make one last truck jacking. While pulling the job, Toretto notices the truck driver is armed with a shotgun. Vince's arm is trapped in the hook as Letty and Toretto try to rescue him. Letty's Civic soon flips over and Dominic soon skids off the road. Brian catches up and gets Vince off. Brian phones in for air patrol, revealing to Toretto that he is a cop. Vince is taken to a hospital, and Toretto and Mia drive off angrily. Brian confronts Toretto at his house. When Jesse comes back, Johnny Tran and his cousin show up to pull off a drive-by, killing Jesse in the process. Brian and Dominic drive out to go after them. Dominic forces one cycle to flip over using his 1970 Dodge Charger. Brian successfully shoots Tran, killing him. They then find themselves at an intersection and engage in a street race. As a train approaches, both cars manage to speed up and pass the tracks as the train barrels down on them. Dominic is then sideswiped by an unexpected truck and his car flips over. Brian then goes to check on Dominic. Suddenly, they notice that the cops are coming. Knowing Dominic will be arrested when they arrive, Brian gives his keys to Dominic, saying, "I owe you a ten-second car." Brian then allows Dominic to escape.
